Idaho’s Treasure Valley is home to some of the greatest recreation in the greater pacific northwest. With Bogus Basin boasting an affordable ski hill right in the Boise Mountains and a burgeoning wine country just west of Idaho’s capital city, there’s no shortage of fun and entertainment.
Right at the heart of the valley, Eagle is one of the best spots for recreation! After serving Eagle for years, we’ve come to fall in love with its people and the ways its residents have fun. Check out some of our favorite ways to enjoy the Treasure Valley without ever leaving Eagle.
Get Your Heart Racing at the Track
For more than 50 years, Firebird Raceway has been the best spot for thrills and drag race fans. The raceway now hosts nearly 50 races each year and continues to be family owned. As a member of the National Hot Rod Association, Firebird Raceway is on the National Register of Historic Places and continues to entertain thousands of race fans every season. For ticketing information and details about upcoming races, check out Firebird Raceway online.
Relax at Eagle’s Winery
It may seem like a hobby business, but 3 Horse Ranch Winery is anything but small. In fact, the owners claim to rank third in wine production in the whole state, right behind two of Idaho’s biggest wineries. Taste what all the fuss is about at their Eagle tasting room. Enjoy wine produced from grapes grown right in the heart of Idaho and support a local family business while you’re at it! We guarantee you’ll want to buy a few bottles for home, too.
Ride The Foothills at Gateway Parks
If you love winter recreation but don’t want to commit to a day spent in the mountains, look no further than Gateway Parks. Choose from tubing or skiing down this urban-level system of hills and terrain parks. This is the perfect spot for first-time skiers who are learning the craft or a winter birthday party! Plus, you don’t have to walk up the hill. Gateway Parks has a magic carpet that will glide you to the top, and all you have to do is slide down in your tube or on skis!
Hit the Links With Great Views
If you’re an avid golfer, you have to try either one of Eagle’s premier golf courses. We promise you won’t be disappointed.
BanBury Golf Course is nestled along the Boise River and features a challenging par 71. Despite its difficulty, it’s still considered one of the best in Idaho. In fact, Golf Digest has consistently ranked it in the top 10 within the state!
If you prefer a course designed to help you improve your game, then check out Eagle Hills Golf Course. With the Boise foothills as the backdrop, you will feel as if you are golfing in luxury. And when you need to practice, be sure to check out the course’s driving ranges and putting and chipping areas.
