A Few of Our Favorite Meridian Things
Why We Love Our Hometown
Nestled just west of Boise, Idaho, Meridian blends together the small town frontier that populates Idaho’s history with the burgeoning suburban lifestyle and nightlife of the Treasure Valley. Meridian’s earliest settlers found their home along Five Mile Creek in 1885, and since then, farmers, industrialists, and families have called Meridian home, developing it into a must-visit destination.
From peaceful, quiet neighborhoods to bustling nights out downtown, there’s one thing we know for sure about Meridian: We love living here.
Our Favorite Restaurants
Get ready for your mouth to water! When choosing our favorite eateries, we couldn’t believe how difficult it was to narrow down our favorite spots. Check out these eateries and the many others that fill Meridian!
Breakfast: To start your day, you can’t go wrong with Moe Joe’s Breakfast Eatery. Load up on protein with the perfect omelet or try their blueberry pancakes for a sweeter treat. If Moe Joe’s is too busy, you can’t go wrong with The Griddle or Terri’s Café, too!
Lunch: Midday cravings are met with a wide variety of options. We love Fat Guys Fresh Deli for a classic lunch, or you could try Big Daddy’s BBQ for homestyle cooking you won’t be able to put down. Deja Brew is another great spot for a pick-me-up and a classic lunch, while the Soup Kettle Grille claims to make some of the best sandwiches in the valley!
Dinner: Get ready to feast; dinner is one of Meridian’s specialties! Our best advice is to check out The Village, where, in addition to shopping, wine tasting, ice skating, playground equipment, and a movie theatre, you will find numerous local and national restaurant chains. However, we can’t forget about our downtown favorites. Ling and Louie’s blend together Asian and American classics, Idaho Pizza Company delivers kids’ favorites, and Epi’s offers a glimpse into the region’s strong Basque history.
What Can You Do in Meridian?
A better question would be, what can’t you do in Meridian?
Families have to check out Wahooz Family Fun Zone or Big Al’s. Each boast arcades and family-friendly games that are sure to spark some light competition. Be sure to bring your swimming trunks to Wahooz, so you can cool off Roaring Springs Waterpark — which is just a walk away from Wahooz. There are even mini golf courses and go-kart tracks!
After a day of heart-racing adventures, a relaxing walk in the park just might be what your family needs. Meridian is home to 37 different parks, each with its own perks, like walking trails, playground equipment, and dog parks. Plus, you can take the family out to a ball game! The Boise Hawks, a semi-pro baseball team, play right in Meridian!
And when it’s time for the grown-ups to relax, don’t forget that Meridian has some of the Treasure Valley’s best breweries and wineries. Heritage Hop Haus and Growler Guys can get you set up with local favorites, while Ram Restaurant & Brewery and Sockeye Brewing are must-see spots. (Wineries are just a few minutes away in Garden City, Kuna, and Caldwell, too!)
